About this species:
Pulmonaria, commonly known as Lungwort, is a hardy perennial prized for its attractive, spotted foliage and charming, bell-shaped flowers. Native to Europe and Asia, it thrives in shaded or partially shaded gardens with moist, well-draining soil. Blooming in early spring, its flowers transition in color, often starting as pink and maturing to blue or violet. The speckled silvery-green leaves provide year-round interest, making it an excellent ground cover or border plant. Low-maintenance and deer resistant, Pulmonaria is also beloved for its ability to attract pollinators and brighten shady green garden spaces.
Pulmonaria grows in clumps and is slow spreading. It is not troubled by slugs or snails. There is a tendency towards powdery mildew in dry soils, as it is sensitive to heat.
